The seer already knew that Noh had the rare gift of no gift whatsoever. She figured that out, like, six months ago. But there are protocols to be observed, and the Blue Caste are nothing if not polite and respectful. Of Noh's third and final assessment, two hours were spent on uncomfortable staring and close proximity, as is the traditional Ith greeting, and the remaining half-hour was spent actually assessing her. The seer's next appointment was a visit to an extended family numbering several dozen; the traditional greetings took well over six hours.
