Who we are

We are August and Shay Brown, the creators of the webcomic the end, which is posted and archived at endcomic.com.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we do not personally collect the data shown in the comments form, or the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection–we use a third party service, disqus, to manage our comments, and they collect both for the aforementioned purpose. Comments are stored on and through disqus, so that they can be transferred over easily should we ever need to remake our website or move it to a new hosting service. If you use disqus, it is assumed that you have agreed to their terms and services there and are in agreement that this manner and specificity of data collection is reasonable on their part.

Disqus has its own avatar/icon management function, and the image displayed beside any comments you leave here will be one that you have chosen yourself and have linked to your disqus profile. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment. If you have not submitted a profile picture to disqus, disqus will represent your comments using an image that we at endcomic.com have chosen to replace the default blank icon image with, featuring art from our comic.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

Enabling cookies for this website will allow you to utilize the bookmark feature on comic pages. Normally cookies are used to remember login info, but there are only two users on this website and we have no plans to allow the general public to make user accounts.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

We do not share your data.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely by disqus, unless we manually delete it. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

What rights you have over your data

If you have have left comments on this website, you can delete it manually via your disqus dashboard. Comments made through disqus are subject to the terms and services disqus has you agree to upon account creation, and any requests for data retained in comments must be made to disqus and abide by their own policies and terms of services.

Where your data is sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service on disqus’ end.
