That is a very intriguing concept on maintaining genetic diversity. I’m reminded loosely of cats and how each of their kittens can actually be from a different male mated with during their heat.
Thank you for taking a moment to explain that one!
And no worries about the late pages, especially at this stage in the game…considering you’re adding another member to the family unit here soon, I wouldn’t be worried if you took a month’s hiatus (or more) to get used to the new routine. I know that won’t happen just by what you’ve been relaying through Twitter…sounds like you’re well ahead of the game for that!
Another great page! I really like the Fiah design!
Wah! Thank you for the block text, that’s pretty cool. And don’t worry about being a day or so late, many others with so much on their plate might just go on hiatus! So thanks for not doing that ^_^;
Anyway, I hope there are no complications and that all goes well.
Hmmmm……almost makes you wonder what the Fiah think of how races such as humans have to reproduce. Although I’m having a smidge of trouble trying to picture exactly how it manages to work (mostly on how their bodies ‘absorb’ the genetic diffusion clusters of the others in the community so that it can be spliced into the preparing fetus) it does sound like a more ‘practical’ method of maintaining genetic diversity without sacrificing genetic stability within the species.
Also, isn’t excessive heat just horrible? Mind you, I’m extremely sensitive to the heat, so even normal summers don’t agree with me well, but the really hot ones (like this year) are just plain Hell (yes, it earns the capitalization) on me. I don’t mind an occasional delay, and honestly you’ve done a better job of maintaining continuous updates than most in your circumstances, so Bravo!
The reason you’re having trouble picturing it is that we left out some key details that are plot relevant!
The heat has been horrible. Right now we’re in the middle of a drought. There was a huge rainstorm the other day in our area that completely bypassed our tiny village. The air seems to have cooled down a little bit because of rain in the surrounding areas, but otherwise it takes me like 5 minutes to burn if I go outside. I can’t wait for fall, though I’m not really looking forward to Canadian winter. :/
I don’t live that much farther south than you, and I’ve always hated summer, although this drought is making for a worse one than normal.

Epic beards are a dominant trait it seems. Good.
So a Fiah with a bad case of moulting could theroretically contribute to over 60% of the population. We’ll hope its not a stupid one then lol.
