"We are now receiving reports that the Church of the Perfect Crust is currently being raided by police. Several Perfect Crust preachers have already taken to social media, claiming that the police have presented no warrant, are arresting everyone they encounter without stated cause, and are confiscating smartphones and other recording devices. Perfect Crust shrines in other cities are also reportedly being raided, possibly suggesting some kind of sting operation involving an almost unprecedented degree of police cooperation. Here in Chicago, Wanda Perez continues to speak with the angry crowd, while the police now appear to be in a standoff with *themselves* after nearly a dozen officers removed their badges and broke ranks to join the defensive line organized by Maria Perez. It is not yet clear what motivated this change of allegiance, but some witnesses are claiming that the rogue officers are recent converts to the Perfect Crust faith."
