Chapter 12 begins!
Okay, so first off, the Yiynova and a spare stylus are here! They got her mega fast, and I’ve been using it since Saturday. How has this impacted my work schedule so far? Well, for starters, I managed to draw and ink the first three pages of this chapter in record time. The first of the three is coloured, and I have no doubt that more would have been coloured if not for the fantastic migraine I ended up with on Sunday, which means that I spent most of the day laying face down on the couch.
As for how it handles, I’m going to go with ‘magnificent’. It’s different than what I’m used to, and even different in comparison to my ancient 15″ refurbished Cintiq (rest in peace, bro). I’m still getting used to the feel of glass under the pen, but man am I happy with how these pages are turning out.
I’m not making any promises at this point, but if I can make a 12 page buffer by mid July, I will absolutely start updating three times a week starting in August. It’s a tall order to fill, because I need to keep posting pages as I make them, but I am going to try as hard as I can to see if it can be done while I get a feel for what I am capable of with the new tablet.
Secondly, at the same time, I need to redesign the site, which I enjoy but it’s going to need to be a design to end all designs (in the sense that it can be easily adapted for changes I need to make to the site without having to redesign the whole damn thing every time), so look forward to that, too, I guess!
Anyhow, every minute I am typing this is a minute I am not working on more comics (or eating peanutbutter toast IMUSTHAVEITNOWGOODBYE), so see you Friday!
